As an Electrician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Will be responsible for troubleshooting and solving complex problems in all areas of the plant. Perform design work on upgrades, modifications and engineering projects. Have proficiency in designing logic for multiple platforms. Be available to maintain and restore equipment to run status whenever problems occur. Provide documentation on engineering projects, upgrades and modifications. Recommend and initiate improvements, including follow-through to completeimplementation.Provide technical assistance to maintenance craftspeople in identifying and resolvingelectrical/electronicissues.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems relating to production equipment breakdowns and make necessary repairs to electronic equipment to maintain and restore equipment up time.
- Monitormodifications/upgradesand keep procedures updated. Assist engineering in design and check out of new equipment.
- Remain current with technology such as PLC’s, Variable Frequency Drives, Instrumentation, Wonderware, etc. Train technicians and electricians to improve troubleshooting and overall skill level. Maintain prints to reflect current status.
- Research, analyze, recommend and implement improved control systems, methods of operations, PM's and spare parts.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma / GED or higher (completed prior to start)
- Possess an Associate’s degree in electrical and/or electrician certification or three (3) years’ experience as an electrician in anindustrial/manufacturingfacilityin a private, public, government, or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Ability to read, understand, and update electrical prints
- CMRT – Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician or Journeyman certificate
