Join our dynamic team in West Milwaukee (Electric Avenue) as a Project Manager in Facilities and Maintenance, where you'll play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of our internal factory equipment.This facility manufactures CT vacuum tubes for CT and X-Ray scanners. It is approximately 1M SQ ft (campus) while the plant is 750K SQ ft.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of factory equipment.Plan and execute departmental operations with a focus on technical excellence.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.

Job Description

Facilitate the install, maintenance, and repairs of internal factory equipment. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work if the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Performing technical work specific to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, equipment review, etc. Sign off on engineering design & certifications. Work with external vendors. This could include architectural, civil, electrical, or other engineering specialty skill sets. May be asked to go to city council and board meetings for larger projects to explain scope, timelines, and outcomes of site adds or modifications.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how his or her area integrates with others within the facility. Open dialog and transparency across all business teams is paramount.
  • Uses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Must lead projects with low to high risks and resource requirements. Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in Facilities Maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills. The ability to pivot from original scope and track to customer’s changing demands
  • Construction project management skills. The ability to be at level with General Contractor
  • Working experience with one or more of the following systems: HVAC, Cryogens, Fire Suppression, Life Safety, Electrical infrastructure (4160), substations, Process Water (cooling loops), Industrial Plumbing, Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, general grounds (sewer, main water supplies)
  • Ability to learn on the fly and be resourceful
  • Must work well under pressure.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with auto CAD
  • Electrical engineering: the ability to read and interpret blueprints/single line drawings/schematics
  • Cleanroom or controlled environment knowledge is a significant plus
  • Experience working in a Union environment preferred
