  • With guidance from the Regional Manager, Logistics & Compliance, audit customs entries to confirm whether the correct tariff codes were used, and to confirm whether the correct value and quantity was input on customs declarations. Make notations in Excel format.

  • Enter tariff classification details into software, whether PLM or a 3rd party platform, to allow the Logistics & Compliance Team to determine whether certain products qualify for free trade agreements.

  • Using a template and gathering information from the audited customs entries, prepare the wording for the customs broker and/or the Manager, Logistics & Compliance, to file Post Summary Corrections or Protests with US Customs & Border Protection.

  • Other tasks to be defined, related to either customs activity or logistics activity.

  • Some knowledge of basic customs terminology.

  • Ability to audit documentation through comparison of commercial invoice data against customs data.

  • Some familiarity with concepts of product codes, as product codes will form the basis of the tariff classification data entry project.
