As an individual contributor you will work at the intersection of cutting-edge infrastructure and ML research, helping teams across the company accelerate how machine learning is developed, deployed, and applied in practice. You’ll work alongside a world-class team of engineers and researchers to build robust, flexible, and intelligent systems that make ML development faster and more reliable. As a member of the Apple Data Platform team your responsibilities include:* Define and drive the technical vision, roadmap, and strategy of the developer engineering experience of ML, AI and data services* Collaborate closely with teams across the stack to enable high-quality, end-to-end ML experiences* Collaborate with key stakeholders and partners to deliver integrations, compliance, cost efficiency, and an optimal experience* Partner with internal customers and product teams to drive the platform roadmap and accelerate adoption of the platform* Optimize platform systems and workflows for large-scale ML and AI workloads across distributed systems* Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team* Identify opportunities and drive a strategic approach to contributing to open source
  • 8+ years of software development experience in Data, ML and AI platforms and infrastructure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to collaborate with other teams across Apple.
  • Strong leadership in cross-functional collaboration, driving alignment across engineering, product, and business teams to accelerate platform adoption.
  • Expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native infrastructure, including Kubernetes, Data and ML orchestration systems
  • Experience designing and optimizing large-scale compute platforms with advanced scheduling, resource management, and cost efficiency considerations.
  • Experience in influencing and driving key product innovations and opportunities across a diverse set of global partners
  • Superb problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • BS, MS, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in AI/ML workload orchestration and scheduling, including optimizing resource allocation for large-scale training, inference, and data processing pipelines.
  • Experience building and managing AI infrastructure platforms, enabling frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Ray, and Spark with distributed compute environments
