As a, you will play a key role in advancing the field ofesponsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) to ensure safe releases ofthe rapidly advancingsuch as GPT-4, GPT-4V, DALL-E 3as well as toexpand andAI Content Safety Service.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in relevant field AND 1+ year(s) related research experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Research/Applied Scienceexperience inNatural Language Processing,Computer Vision, Multimodal analysis, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Experience with algorithmic problem solving and software development skills (Python/Java/C++).
  • Experience with open-source tools such asPyTorch, as well as experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools.


Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • Publication(s) in conferences or journals in AI related fields, e.g., CVPR (Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition).
  • Experience with large-scale data processing, distributed computing, or cloudplatforms.
  • Demonstratedinterest and/orexpertiseinResponsible AI and fairness considerations.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

Research Sciences IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.

Research Sciences IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.   • Contribute to the development of Responsible AI policies, guidelines, and best practices and ensure the practical implementation of these guidelines within various AI technology stacks across Microsoft, promoting a consistent approach to Responsible AI.
