As our D/B Bridge Practice Leader, you will:
• Act as a Structures Design Lead for pursuits and projects using alternative delivery methods
• Have the opportunity to help drive our strategy and business growth in the local design-build market and collaborate with others to drive our market growth.
• Lead a very talented and well-established team of structural professionals across offices in Reston, Arlington, Richmond and Virginia Beach.
• Interface with contractor clients through progression of the design deliverables.
• Deliver design build by ensuring the structural design is completed in accordance with the contract guidelines and design documents.
• Establish structural scope, work plan and work schedule in support of the Project/Design Manager.
• You will be a Bridge discipline leader on large transportation projects throughout the Virginia and lead staff, project teams, perform preliminary and final design engineering and prepare documentation to satisfy the requirements for local and State roadway projects for our Virginia transportation top clients such as the Virginia DOT, DDOT and local county and city governments.
When you join us, you’ll have the opportunity to build and direct a growing D/B Bridge Group. We’ll look to you to provide technical leadership and oversee all aspects of design projects including design-build transportation projects, quality of engineering work performed, client satisfaction, and utilization of staff assigned on bridge engineering projects. You will direct and coordinate activities of design engineers and technicians to ensure projects progress on schedule and within prescribed budget. You will act as a mentor and assist design engineers & project managers in developing final design plans as well as participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance.
In this role, you will provide overarching technical direction and client management strategy to the Jacobs transportation market sector team.
You will coordinate with all complimentary disciplines (roadway, drainage, structural, traffic, public involvement and environmental) through technical preparation and supervision of roadway and planning design tasks, perform plan quality reviews and participate in value engineering studies.
To leverage technical capabilities and form synergies with other geographies for work sharing, we’ll ask you to actively engaging with Jacobs’ Solutions & Technology platform including Highway / Bridge market Regional Solutions Leaders. Additionally, you’ll represent Jacobs at meetings, presentations, and public hearings relative to assigned projects. Actively participating in transportation and other professional associations such as DBIA ASHE, ASCE, TRB, AASHTO, VTCA, ACEC, WTS, etc. to establish, improve, and maintain a business network beneficial for personal development, to advance client knowledge and relationships, and to help identify future prospects.
