The ideal candidate will possess the ability to design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges. This role requires both independent contribution as well as the ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams. The scope of projects will include but is not limited to the improvement of electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems. A fundamental understanding of these systems is required, as the individual will be expected to identify areas for improvement as well as act on data provided from other teams and organizations.Above all else, you will drive a culture of safety and security while maintaining a focus on availability. The body of work the technicians you are responsible for has to be done to very strict standards and it is your responsibility to ensure seamless execution.You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key job responsibilities
- Safety Ambassador responsible for driving a culture of safety and promoting a safe working environment for all executing work under your watch.
- Remain cognizant of, and act in compliance with, all security protocols. Motivate others to do the same.
- Utilize internal CMMS to schedule and oversee the day-to-day execution of Nondestructive Testing preventative maintenance across your assigned fleet of data centers.
- Act as an escalation point for all safety, security and facilities-related issues as it relates to your assigned work, escalating to your Manager as required.
- Support existing, create, and deploy new standard practices for Nondestructive Testing.
- Provide training and guidance to Nondestructive Testing Technicians.
- Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers and management on a daily basis.
- Work with engineers to develop detailed and creative solutions to complex problems, while keeping a watchful eye on timelines and costs.
- Oversee projects and provide solutions for root causes of facility issues.Physical Requirements:- Walk job sites in uneven terrain.
- Work at heights and from ladders.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more.
- Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
- Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.
- Bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working.
- Perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired.
- Use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.
- Push or pull heavy objects into position.
- Work in a noisy environment.
- Work at depths, such as under raised floors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


- Bachelor’s Degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) Degree
- 2+ years of relevant work experience (example: electrical or mechanical industry)
- 2+ years of data center or mission critical facilities (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.) experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Strong understanding of basic physical concepts, to include: optics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, and material science
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience in a Non-Destructive Testing Discipline.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Physics.
- Hold a ASNT level II or III certification in a Non-Destructive Testing Discipline
- Ability to recognize safety concerns and maintain a safe work environment under NFPA 70e guidelines.
- Strong project management skills, verbal and written communication skills, vendor relationship management skills
