Based at NEOM Site, the Engineering Manager - MEP who will play a crucial role overseeing and leading the MEP Engineering function. You will be tasked with overseeing the technical aspects of engineering projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, project managers, and construction teams to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of MEP systems and a proven track record of leading engineering teams: Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineering team for THE LINE project
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of MEP systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations
- Identify any non-conformances and coordinate appropriate corrective actions
- Monitor contractor progress and address any concerns regarding progress
- Review design consultants and contractors to ensure they meet their contractual obligations
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with the PMC team and the client
- Supervise the Lead Consultants in finalizing authority design approvals and the contractor in obtaining necessary authority permits during installation and upon completion
- Manage the MEP engineering department, providing direction and oversight to engineering teams
- Develop, implement, and enforce engineering standards, policies, and procedures for MEP systems
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, budget, and timelines related to MEP systems
- Review designs, proposals, and project plans to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems within the overall project framework
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the MEP team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of MEP components
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure quality and safety standards are met
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure project objectives are achieved
- Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and documentation as required
- Minimum 20 years of experience with increasing responsibility in engineering and construction leadership
- Degree qualified – engineering related
- Engineering and/or leadership experience in KSA or wider Middle East
- Experience working on major/giga projects
- Proven experience leading a MEP Engineering function
- Technically proficient and able to understand the requirements of each MEP system installation
- Ability to identify key issues and risks associated with system design and installation, and ability to coordinate management and resolution of the same in consultation with client, designer, and contractor
- Track record in the delivery of large multi-functional projects
