Job responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for clients & Front office on all operational issues including allocation, pre-match, settlement and post settlement events.
• Perform reconciliations between front office, middle office and back office systems to ensure data capture accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure all transactions are correctly captured in booking systems, risk management and downstream systems and escalate issues for any urgent matters or assistance
• Work closely with client, Settlements and other third party institutions to settle client trades.
• Produce time sensitive reports with actionable data to Front Office, Middle Office or Back Office for break resolutions and detailed business control metrics to management on a daily basis
• Liaise with client onboarding and reference data team to setup accounts internally
• Liaise with trade support team to identify and fix exceptions.
• Ensure the Sales and Trading are in compliance with rules and regulations in various local jurisdictions.
• Continuously participate in projects involving; new product rollout, new system implementation, process improvements & perform root cause analyses on new issues or control gaps
• Take ownership of work, problems, clarify issues / objections, and ensure data integrity, accuracy and completeness

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in Middle office role in Client Service / Trade Support / Cash Equity / Derivatives Trade Support
• Excellent communication skills; fluency in English required. Individual should have been in a role that required daily and extensive communication directly with FO Sales & Marketing groups
• Knowledge of Equities, Bonds, and Equity Swap products and relevant process flows is necessary
• Understand the key elements of other infrastructure groups (i.e. Finance, Market risk, Credit risk, Operational risk, Legal, Collateral etc.) and recognize the impact of the actions of the Trade support team on these areas
• Must be a self-starter with the motivation, demonstration of initiative, and ownership mentality to think outside of the box as necessary
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to take ownership and responsibility
• Great team player able to work in a pressurized and changing environment
• Ability to drive and manage global initiatives and projects driven by the business, industry or operations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand the external client’s perspective when applying solutions
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong technical skills, especially in Excel

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with modern skills of the future tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBi
• Technical skills such as VBA is a plus
• In-depth experience with equity products and global markets, including rules and regulations familiarity preferred
• Derivatives Regulatory knowledge is a plus, i.e. Dodd Frank, EMIR
