As a Clinical Application Specialist, you will be responsible for operating in lockstep with product management to create a clear strategic direction for build needs for a product in your teams' portfolio. You will work with the team and deliver a clear and descriptive set of requirements to enable the delivery of a products features and functionality. You will Coordinate market and clinical research to support product development, clinical value proposition creation and go to market programs


Qualifications:

  • Provide clinical input to the Diagnostic Cardiology product management and engineering teams in the new product development process.

  • Coordinate market and clinical research to support product development, clinical value proposition creation and go to market programs

  • Support the clinical research programs either internally or externally driven

  • Establish and maintain close contacts (formal and informal advisory panels) in the clinical community; including nurses, physicians and researchers, as key contacts for program definition

  • Collaborate with region marketing teams on clinical training programs and clinical value proposition development for new and existing product offerings

  • Support the clinical research strategy for Diagnostic Cardiology

  • Lead all the UX activities related to research, industrial design, interaction design, human factors, and usability by collaborating with users, product management, marketing and engineering teams to help evolve new and existing user workflows, interfaces, and product look and feel for our Diagnostic Cardiology portfolio.

  • - Create and implement the Diagnostic Cardiology UX Roadmap – the UX evolution of both our product hardware and software user interfaces

  • - Lead the development and consistent implementation of UX design standards and pattern libraries, ensuring UX consistency between Diagnostic Cardiology products and other GEHC products

  • - Lead the development of formative design research deliverables including user roles and personas, use environment profiles, conceptual designs, exploratory evaluations and task based evaluations.

  • - Lead the execution of iterative formative usability testing activities and summative usability testing activities by UX team members and ensure that findings are implemented within the design

  • - Identify and share trends and methodologies relevant to UX, usability engineering, and industrial design

  • Desired Characteristics

  • Master’s or Doctorate in engineering, science, design / fine arts, or psychology with a concentration on human factors/ergonomics, industrial design, human-computer interaction, interaction design, information architecture, or closely-related specialty

  • 8 + years of experience with at least 3 years of experience in clinical specialist

  • Demonstrated expertise in applying design research methodologies such as contextual inquiry, focus groups, and interviews

  • Demonstrated expertise in applying interaction design and human factors methodologies such as usability testing, card sorting, task analysis, heuristic analysis, cognitive walkthrough, expert review, site maps, workflows, eye-tracking studies, and low- through high-fidelity prototyping

  • Familiarity with design control and regulatory practices and standards for medical devices

  • Experience in designing for the consumer electronics, automotive, aviation, or healthcare/medical device domains

  • Proven program management skills and track record of delivering commitments on time

  • Track record of creating intellectual property

  • Skills in building low and high fidelity prototypes, wire-frames, storyboards, and information architecture presentations

  • - Demonstrated experience in guiding and contributing to the End-to-End User Experience, including all elements of the product ecosystem that impact the UX of users, buyers and other stakeholders. Examples elements include sales, quality, installation, service, and marketing communications

  • - Demonstrated application of user experience principles to complex devices including both hardware and software interfaces

  • - Demonstrated track record of significant knowledge and experience in strategy, ideation, and product definition using disruptive design practices

  • - Portfolio demonstrating successful examples of conceptual designs, prototypes, and final design patterns used in commercialized products

  • - In-depth knowledge of user-centered design processes, human factors, user interface development, and prototyping/design

  • - Strong communications (written and verbal), negotiation, and problem solving skills

  • - Demonstrated history of team leadership in cross-functional, global environment

  • - Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence effectively across organizational levels

  • - Ability to travel domestically and internationally

  • Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

  • Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables

  • Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, design / fine arts, psychology or closely-related field

  • Relevant scientific or clinical degree, degree in Biomed or hospital registrations

  • At least 5 yrs experience in medical industry supporting Diagnostic Cardiology products.

  • Customer contact experience

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including international travel

  • - Define and lead review mechanisms to ensure adherence to, and continuous improvement of, internal standards for UX activities

  • - Effectively partner with product management, engineering, and other internal stakeholders to ensure product development programs receive appropriate UX support

  • - Lead the creation of interaction design and information architecture deliverables such as workflows, user interaction models, low- through high-fidelity prototypes, and graphic assets
