What you need to know about the role:• We are seeking a talented Engineering Manager to lead our Braintree Web SDK team.
• You will lead a team of 7 to 9 Experienced US based engineers
• Your responsibilities include managing a team of engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions, and engaging with external developers
• You will set clear goals, define project requirements, and manage priorities in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• You will implement best practices and drive technical excellence by understanding and addressing developers' needs
• Our team is dedicated to reinventing online payments, enabling merchants worldwide to accept payments within their apps and websites. As a leader, you will play a key role in delivering innovative solutions and exceptional support to our developer community
• You will oversee the development of new payment methods and features, shaping the next generation of our developer experience
• We do a lot of open-source development as some of our SDKs are in public GitHub
• We build and support Braintree’s SDKs, which are the primary way for a merchant to accept payments on their websites and mobile apps
• We are launching new and interesting ways to pay through our SDKs
• We create easy-to-use developer tools that supplement our SDKs and Integrations
• We are focused on improving the developer experience by engaging with the external developer community, creating tutorials, blogs, and speaking at conferences
What you need to bring:
- +6 years of Web Development experience
- +2 years of experience working in a large-scale organization
- Proven experience in a leadership (Manager or Tech-Lead) role, preferably in a web or SDK development environment
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent
- Experience building JavaScript and TypeScript applications
- Experience in developer-facing products (e.g. SDKs, REST APIs, GraphQL) or products that enable third-party application development
Nice to have:
- Experience with payment processing, e-commerce, or financial technology is a plus
- Open-Source contributions
- Experience managing remote teams
