Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Front-End Software Developer on the Cloud Pak for AIOps team, you will be working as part of a full-generation of AI-infused infrastructure management features used in our premier hybrid cloud
management product. Working in an agile environment, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary
squad working on the user interface within the large global development product group. Youracross our global organization.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in the architecture, design, and implementation of sophisticated software systems
• Participate in software design and code reviews. Reviews include other Software Engineers and are held to ensure a high level of software quality and to share knowledge with team members.
• Handle critical defect remediation and assist with customer issue remediation for clients across the globe
• Participate in client facing workshops and sessions to demonstrate the capabilities of our software and assist sales engagements
• Demonstrate leadership qualities to guide your team to solutions
• Participate in, and adhere to, professional software engineering practices using such tools and methodologies as Agile Software Development, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Source Code Management (git), and GitHub
• Participate in the planning, creation and execution of automated test cases and load/performance testing
• Maintain a high level of proficiency with Computer Science/Software Engineering knowledge
• Contribute to the growth of other developers through mentoring and assisting with career development activities
• Work well independently and as part of a team

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of software Front End development experience (React JS preferred)
• Strong skills in JavaScript, CSS, HTML
• Experience working with a design system, working off redlines and prototypes (tools such as Sketch, Figma, Invision)
• Strong skills in Unit testing with knowledge of common frameworks such as Jest, Enzyme, React Testing Library etc.
• Experience in implementing responsive designs (including use of grid/flexbox)
• Cross-browser compatibility experience with all major browsers
• Experience working with CI/CD processes, DevOps methodologies and tools such as git, Jenkins, Travis
• Experience leading a technical project and both collaborating and negotiating with stakeholders
• Experience of creating innovate solutions for problems
• Experience demonstrating initiative and identifying new ways to improve existing code and processes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment with remote office locations

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience working with high traffic web application
• Experience working with NodeJS and Express
• Experience with multiple cloud services: IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL data stores
• Experience on Automation testing using tools/frameworks like Cypress or similar
• Experience working with Kubernetes/OpenShift or related cloud-native technologies
