1st shift (United States of America)The Vice President I role is a specialist role within the Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”) Power, Utilities and Energy group.DCM is a core business and focus growth area of Truist Securities Inc. (“TSI”)- the Corporate and Investment Banking subsidiary of Truist Financial Corp. (“TFC”), in turn, one of the nation’s largest commercial banks with $530bn+ of assets. DCM is a ~$150mm/year business targeting to grow to $200mm+/year over the next several years, with the Power, Utilities and Energy group currently situated as its largest revenue generator contributing ~25% of total revenues.DCM’s primary mandate is to advise its clients (predominately mid/large-cap investment grade corporations) on debt/acquisition financing and liability management/portfolio optimization strategies and provide market intelligence for its clients to utilize for financial planning purposes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Works closely with senior banking professionals, product specialists, clients and other internal and external constituencies to help drive the business growth.
2. Leads support work, business development and/or product/client relationship management.
3. Assists in the generation of ideas and strategies for new business opportunities.
4. Leads processes required to convert ideas to sales pitches, including due diligence execution and client pitch preparation.
5. Leads all aspects of transaction execution, including organizing teams and handling engagement with internal and external constituencies, selling product and advisory ideas internally and externally, and managing resolution of complex client transaction issues
6. May supervise junior staff (i.e., Analysts, Interns, and Associates) by assigning and overseeing their day-to-day work.
7. Manages highly complex financial modeling, pitch-book production development, client relationship, and deal team travel, etc.

Required Qualifications:

1. BA/BS degree
2. Licenses: Series 7, 79, 63
3. 6+ years of related work experience
4. In-depth knowledge of investment banking, market, industry sector and/or financial products
5. Advanced skills in financial analytical, sales, presentation, client relationship management, organizing, leadership and interpersonal relationship management
6. Superior skills in written and oral communications


Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role should reflect characteristics and experiences most aligned with but not exclusive to the following:
• 5-6-years+ of recent capital markets experience with an extensive track-record of “Active Book Runner” deals involving your significant contribution, or comparable corporate and investment banking experience that effects a similar “plug-and-play” candidate
• “Player-coach” personality who can lead/manage the junior team by example if need-be, driven to autonomously execute team client coverage best-practices and principles to a meticulous yet efficient degree
• Analytical mindset with the ability to efficiently synthesize data into thoughtful, distinguishing, and original content-driven advice to clients
• Highly driven and proactive personality who is constantly focused on winning client mandates and achieving team revenue goals
• Highly confident personality who can collaborate with and challenge colleagues across industry/product verticals (banking, capital markets, syndicate, sales and trading) to perform at their highest caliber
• High degree of conviction towards a long-term DCM career path maturing into a predominately client-facing senior role

The annual base salary for this position is $275000
