What You’ll Do

  • Work with engineering teams to build, assemble and install new equipment for proof of concept (pilot / prototype) and mass-production: Robots / automation, tools / fixtures, machine safe-guarding / fencing, process fixtures, cable trays, piping and various other fixtures
  • Fabricate / build equipment and tools to optimize production process and resolve equipment issues
  • Participate in process / equipment design reviews to ensure optimization for manufacturability and maintenance
  • Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve Process, Quality, Safety, and Cycle-Time. Identify areas of improvement & work with engineering and/or maintenance groups to schedule & execute modifications for measurable improvement
  • Work with the Engineering team to diagnose and implement countermeasures to any production process issues (Yield, Quality, Cycle Time, Cost, Ergonomics, Safety, Process Flow, Efficiency improvements)
  • Day to day coverage of Production recovery and emergency response
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives and manage projects involving multiple departments and/or outside contractors
What You’ll Bring
  • Completion of a maintenance or millwright apprenticeship or equivalent OJT experience is preferred
  • 3+ years of trade experience in a manufacturing environment and 3+ years of experience with Forklift, Boom lift, Scissor lift, fall protection. 3+ years of experience with Forklift, Boom lift, Scissor lift, fall protection
  • Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings. Schematic understanding of Hydraulic, pneumatic, or 24 volt Electrical
  • Proven experience with welding / fabrication, machining, building machine safeguarding (line enclosures). Safe use of all hand and power tools
  • Good computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office, Bonus if you have Hydraulic, pneumatic, or 24volt Electrical understanding
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude & problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven strong and flexible attendance – occasional weekends and holiday work may be required
  • Must have command of the English Language, both written and verbal

Essential Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
  • Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
  • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
