About the role:
The Tool Crib Coordinator tracks the supply and use of equipment and materials in the tool crib. When engineers/technicians need tools or materials to complete their tasks, the tool crib attendant issues them and tracks them to ensure they are returned at the end of the day or on a specified date.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing tools, machine tool fixtures, dies, measuring devices, test equipment, materials, or supplies supporting local departments. You will also take periodic inventory, ensuring item availability to fill incoming requisitions. Assignments are typically routine in nature, but the ability to recognize deviations from accepted practice is required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform inventory assessments for regularly used tooling and place orders as needed.
  • Evaluate min / max set points for stock tooling and supplies.
  • Complete a cycle count of tools monthly.
  • Restock unused parts back into the crib.
  • Order tooling and supplies as needed.
  • Experience using depth micrometers, inside diameter gage, and outside diameter gage.
  • Ability to identify, track, and maintain tool crib inventory.
  • Understanding of minimum / maximum inventory levels for tooling
  • Ability to effectively use programs within the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Maintain records of tools issued to employees; take periodic inventory and requisitions stock as needed; reports damaged, worn out, or missing equipment using computers to enter transactions, validate information, and maintain the database.
  • Applies sound judgment in execution of core job responsibilities, thinks critically regarding the downstream impact of decisions.
  • Update equipment locations in WASP and comply with all department procedures.
  • Maintains shop supply inventory.
  • Orders and stores required supplies/material.
  • Cleans, oils, and performs minor repair on equipment to maintain or upgrade equipment.
  • May periodically perform routine equipment maintenance.

Required qualifications:

  • 4 years high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years progressive experience issuing, maintaining, and monitoring tools, fixtures, dies and related equipment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Basic familiarity with office and inventory/stock control software, WASP
  • Full knowledge of material handling equipment and hand, machine and measuring tools
  • Mechanical skills to maintain company owned tools, fixtures, dies and devices.
  • Interpersonal skills and written communication skills to interface with employees and to accurately document
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
  • Experience utilizing SAP and SharePoint.
  • Assembles new tool kits and upgrades and maintains existing tool kits.
  • Ensures accurate distribution and tracking of items.
  • Maintains database of issued, damaged, worn out or missing equipment.
  • Research and orders new or replacement tools.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned or required May be responsible for storing, transporting, and disposing of hazardous material (HAZMAT).

The anticipated hourly base pay range for this full time position working at this location will be $20.00-26.44/hour, plus variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements) and the value of core and optional employee benefits being offered at Boston Scientific (BSC), which can be reviewed at www.bscbenefitsconnect.com. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated pay range. BSC considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs. Actual compensation may be otherwise adjusted if the position is filled outside of the intended geographic location.
