What you’ll do
  • Work in close partnership regional Inclusion leader to drive forward Netflix’s inclusion priorities for Japan and the Asia-Pacific region;
  • Understand the short to mid term business needs in the country and translate Netflix’s inclusion priorities into the local contexts to make them locally relevant
  • Be a valued member of Netflix’s Inclusion Strategy team to drive forward global inclusion priorities by participating in team meetings and initiatives, offering skills (e.g. facilitation, project management, leader influencing, etc.), subject-matter expertise (e.g. cross-cultural competence, local labor environment pertaining to disability or gender, etc.) and lived experiences to globally distributed team;
  • Maintain a complex array of internal client relationships at regional and local level in both the Tokyo office and other APAC offices, by:
    Partnering with HR peers to design, implement and evaluate business-centric inclusive leadership interventions that drive team effectiveness and talent density while addressing local needs and opportunities; Supporting cross-functional HR peers to drive equity throughout the employee lifecycle - from recruitment, hiring, promotion, etc. - especially for employees who come from historically marginalized groups in Asia; Being a trusted coach to leaders of diverse, high performing teams as they strengthen their inclusive leadership acumen; Collaborating with cross-functional partners and external subject matter experts to provide strategic advisory to teams involved in content, production, publicity and other aspects of Netflix’s business
  • Develop and support employee resource groups (ERG) intended to address the needs of employees from historically marginalized, while keeping tightly aligned with regional and global ERG strategies;
  • Engage and network with external groups and organizations in Japan and around the region to keep up to date on trends and build partnerships that contribute to Netflix’s business goals.
What you’ll need
  • A passion for driving talent density through inclusive and equitable organizational systems and practices across the employee lifecycle;
  • Skills for influencing and coaching senior leaders on business-centric, inclusive leadership practices that help to unlock the competitive advantage of diverse teams;
  • Familiarity with integrating inclusion practices into team effectiveness, leadership development and other talent management approaches is an advantage. An industry track record of three to five years would be ideal;
  • Skills for managing projects that consistently deliver results on time and within budget;
  • Previous experience designing and implementing complex local, national and/or regional strategies guided by change management principles would be an advantage;
  • Demonstrated good judgment and critical thinking.
  • High aptitude to learn, grow and apply new skills on the job.
  • Strong curiosity, proactive stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills - especially in globally distributed, matrixed organizations;
  • High proficiency in both English and Japanese language is essential - including an ability to communicate complex concepts with clarity - e.g. privilege, unconscious bias, vulnerability and allyship;
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws relevant to inclusion in Japan and other APAC markets would be an advantage
