You will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the open source community, Linux and related open source projects, and have worked with channels and customers deploying open source software into IoT and Edge applications. You will have a proven track record of delivering both engineering excellence, as well as experience with real life applications of open
source software.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 4+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience in open source software development
Proven track record of managing teams working upstream and downstream
Strong understanding of embedded software, SAAS and Linux
Knowledge of key SoM vendors, ODMs, and distribution channels for SoC vendors
Excellent technical, communication and engineering management skills
Experience in managing relationships with key partners and stakeholders
Ability to work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Based in US (West Coast preferred), EU or UK
MBA or advanced degree preferred
Willingness to travel globally as needed (likely several times per year)
Prefer experience working closely with or for a Linux Distribution
Responsibilities:
as user space stacks and container technologies.
Architect, support and manage OSS/upstream initiatives within the Qualcomm Central Software Engineering (CSE) team
Drive the growth of our partner ecosystem through delivering initiatives to align partners such as SiP and SoM suppliers, module makers and ODMs, with our long term OSS maintenance and support strategy
Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, engineering and legal teams to ensure successful customer outcomes
Track and report on KPIs related to OSS upstreaming activity, partner and community engagement
Represent the company at industry events and conferences
Stay current on industry trends and best practices in relevant OSS projects
Mentor and build expertise in the Foundries/Qualcomm OSS teams
