Responsible for capturing and refining business and/or system requirements (based on specialization). Works with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyze problems, and capture their requirements, and then working closely with the Development Team to refine the requirement into specifications that can be executed by the team. Possess a working knowledge of the business and/or technical domain based on their specialization. Leverages experience and understanding of stakeholder needs to help create a solution, envisions the solution to solve a problem (manual or through software). Performs Cost/Benefit Analysis to align the technology to business strategy. Gathers & catalogs functional, non-functional, and technical requirements for stakeholder requests. Determines the impact of modifications and enhancements on the application. Acts as the product(s) subject matter expert to support scope and requirement decisions. Ensures changes to the application are compliant with bank standards and policies. Assists users and development team with application testing and troubleshooting, and may help configure test solutions to validate functional and system needs. Identifies, document and troubleshoot application related problems. Documents process, procedures and workflows associated with applications. Leads or participate in continuous improvement efforts; Building expertise in creating, analyzing, and improving processes. Creates, maintains and presents training materials for end-users. We are the GCIB Technology group serving the technology needs of the Global Corporate Investment Banking team in Bank of America. We are looking for a Tech Analyst for the role dedicated to Capital Markets Technology initiatives and projects responsible for capturing and supporting delivery of business and/or system requirements (based on specialization) to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities include working with stakeholders to understand their needs, capture their requirements, perform impact analysis, and then working closely with the development team(s) to refine the requirements into specifications that can be executed by the team. Also, this role is responsible for conducting User Acceptance Testing and getting signoff from the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand stakeholder needs to help envision and create a solution to solve a problem.

  • Support cost/benefit analysis to align technology solutions to business strategy.

  • Gather and catalog functional, non-functional, and technical requirements for stakeholder requests.

  • Provide subject matter expertise within the business /technical domain to support scope and requirement decisions

  • Determine the impact of modifications and enhancements to applications and assist with identifying integration points and the end-to-end solution design.

  • Ensure changes to the application are compliant with bank standards and policies.

  • For vendor applications, work closely with the vendor to ensure changes meet bank requirements including assisting with acceptance testing where needed.

  • Assist users and development teams in application testing and troubleshooting and may help with test planning and configuring test solutions to validate functional and system needs.

  • Document processes, procedures and workflows associated with applications.

  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to create, analyze, and improve processes and solutions.

  • Create, maintain and present training materials for end-users.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of Equity Capital Markets/New Issue/ Primary Markets requires approximately 6-8 years BA experience at a leading financial services organization.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking ability; ability to troubleshoot production issues and get them resolved quickly by the appropriate support team

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; ability to get a point across quickly and concisely is important

  • Identifies risk/dependencies and quantifies the impact it has on the business/technology and what controls are to be used to resolve.

  • Contributes to artifacts needed for governance forums. Understands stakeholder expectations and creates regular updates to keep stakeholders informed.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize effectively and handle responsibilities for multiple projects / support issues concurrently

  • Works in partnership with the team to ensure that optimum value is obtained through technology and through an advanced understanding of the business.

  • Providing application training and demonstrations

  • Agile skills to write quality User Stories, effectively prioritizes the backlog/work items, defines acceptance criteria and aligns business stakeholders on priorities.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working directly with the front office, ideally in a trading floor environment, is strongly preferred

  • Experience with capital markets and the syndication process is a plus
