A Lead Electrical Engineer will put technology into medical technology by partnering across functional boundaries to optimize and integrate subsystems. They will have ownership over the design from product conception to commercialization and execution of project objectives according to a written, approved design plan.
Role Responsibilities
  • PCB schematic design, layout, HDL, firmware, EMC, cabling, and integrated 3rd party electronics. The scope of circuits ranges from low voltage mixed signal circuits to line voltage AC circuits to 60kV for x-ray generation

  • A lead engineer will be expected to drive technical designs from prototype to manufacturing implementation, which includes risk retirement, design reviews, reliability testing, creating component verification plans, EMC Testing, and design documentation

  • The candidate should be comfortable working with cross-functional teams, have solid technical communication skills, and a strong commitment to product safety, quality, and reliability

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 5 years electrical engineering work experience

  • Experience with circuit board design, bring-up, and troubleshooting

  • Demonstrated experience in any of the following: Analog, digital, or mixed circuit design, communication methods (i.e. CAN, SPI, I2C), power supply design, HDL (VHDL preferred), Firmware (C++ preferred)

  • EMC compatible design/solution experience

  • Circuit design and simulation tool experience (i.e. Cadence, Matlab, spice)

  • Ability to complete design objectives within program critical timelines

  • Experience working within a quality management system that ensures rigor and excellence with all design activities

  • Knowledge of UL/ETL/IEC standards and how they apply to designs

  • Self-starter, results oriented, and able to multi-task

Desired Characteristics
  • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Knowledge of x-ray imaging system design fundamentals

  • Knowledge of 60601-1 standards and how they apply to designs

  • Embedded design experience using VHDL, Altera Tools and FPGA’s

  • Ability to write comprehensive verification test protocols

  • Working experience with PWA/PWB and subsystem design techniques for signal integrity

  • Cadence circuit design tool experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of GEHC tools and processes EQPM, ePDM, Cadence

  • Demonstrated technical leadership capability in integration activities

  • Excellent teamwork, coordination, and communication skills

  • Experience with reliability test methods (growth testing, demonstration testing) and tools (i.e. Weibull++)

  • Experience delivering low-cost designs and should-cost analysis

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Global project experience
