As a Senior Software Engineer , you'll work across the full platform stack — improving platform resilience, scale, and processing efficiency, but also uncovering meaningful relationships across data sets to drive trustworthy, data-driven decisions at scale.

• Deliver distributed systems that process diverse external signals at scale, fueling decision-making across eBay.

• Design and evolve self-service frameworks that allow teams to manage their own data strategies with speed and accuracy.

• Collaborate across product, analytics, and engineering to understand requirements and deliver effective platform capabilities.

• Improve system architecture and operational performance through technical innovation and thoughtful design.

• Foster a collaborative engineering culture grounded in quality, learning, and shared ownership.

• Contribute to the platform’s long-term evolution and technical roadmap.

• Java , with experience building scalable backend systems using Spring or equivalent frameworks.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and experience deploying services using Kubernetes and Docker .

• Familiarity with full web stack development, including HTML , JavaScript , and HTTP protocols.

• Experience with high-volume data processing technologies such as Kafka , Spark , Flink , or Hadoop , in real-time or batch pipelines.

• Clear, inclusive communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• A platform mindset: focused on performance, reliability, and building reusable, sustainable systems.

• Experience working in an e-commerce environment or with competitive product data.

• Prior contributions to self-service platforms, developer-facing tools, or automation systems.
