We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Thermal Engineer / Supplier Quality Engineerto join our global quality and engineering team. Based in Thailand, you will play a critical dual role in both thermal performance design validation and supplier quality management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure that thermal solutions meet stringent product and reliability requirements while maintaining high supplier quality standards.
As a member of the Supplier Quality Engineering, you will be responsible for new Tech development, supplier quality management to hit quality metrics and sustain COS(Continuity of Supply). This job requires strong process knowledge, rich practical experience, excellent communication, influencing skills and project management skills.
What you’ll achieve
As a Thermal Supplier Process Engineer, you will be responsible for supplier quality management to hit quality metrics and sustain Continuity of Supply.
Thermal Engineering (Approx. 50%)
- Participate in the thermal design review and validation process for electronics cooling (e.g., heat sinks, vapor chambers, fans, TIMs). Assist and participate in thermal simulation and modeling efforts (e.g., using FloTHERM, Icepak, or ANSYS) to support product development and supplier proposals. Collaborate with R&D, mechanical design, and systems teams to optimize thermal solutions from concept to mass production. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions related to thermal performance issues during EVT/DVT/PVT. Support thermal lab test setups, thermal measurements, and correlation analysis with simulation models.
Supplier Quality Engineering (Approx. 50%)
- Manage thermal component suppliers (e.g., liquid cooling, cold plate, heat sink, heat pipe, thermal interface materials) to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with company specifications. Develop and implement supplier quality strategies including APQP, PPAP, and FAI for new product introduction. Conduct on-site supplier audits (process, quality system, and manufacturing capability assessments). Lead 8D/5Why/FMEA activities for supplier-related quality issues and drive continuous improvement. Work with suppliers to improve manufacturing process capability and reduce variability (e.g., Cp/Cpk, SPC). Act as the main technical interface between suppliers and internal teams for thermal and mechanical parts.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 7 years of experience in thermal engineering, supplier quality, or manufacturing engineering in the electronics or hardware industry. Deep knowledge of thermal management technologies in electronics (e.g., fan systems, heat exchangers, cold plates, TIMs).
- Familiar with supplier quality tools and methodologies (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
- Hands-on experience with thermal simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Icepak, FloTHERM). Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for thermal components (extrusion, CNC, brazing, stamping, etc.).
- Experience working with tier-1 suppliers in Taiwan and China. Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally (~20–30%).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; fluent in Mandarin and English.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in consumer electronics, data centers, or automotive electronics. Experience with product lifecycle from design to ramp.
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt). Familiarity with global quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001).
