Contribute to the compliance product design architecture reviews
Collaborate closely with the cross functional engineering teams to integrate and test safety functions during product development and verification phases
Develop and implement robust safety methodologies and processes to ensure the safe operation of machinery safety-critical systems
Review product specifications, test plans, and develop test procedure and pass/fail criteria for the safety and performance functions
Debug/RCA non-conformities of products and work with NRTLs to achieve product compliance certificates
Convert problem statements to specification requirements for machinery constructions
Compliance validation and data analysis which includes battery systems and battery chargers
Perform product safety testing, troubleshooting and bug fixing with Tesla cross functional teams
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Machinery Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in safety evaluations for machinery systems or similar products
Understanding the EU CE requirements, North American Listings and APAC regulations and Compliance/ certification experience per ANSI/CAN/UL/IEC/EN/ISO standards
In-depth knowledge of industrial machinery safety standards, including but not limited to NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL508A, UL3100, UL 1740, R15.06, R15.08, Z434, IEC 62061, ISO 13849-1, and IEC 61508, etc.
Demonstrated experience of taking products through the certification process
Ability to navigate/interpret ambiguity of various product safety standards
Experience with laboratory test equipment and data acquisition systems, such as the oscilloscopes, the power analyzers, data loggers, etc.
Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering components, understanding of how they interact in complex products
Knowledge of product safety and compliance, knows how to do the construction reviews and making testing packages per national (ANSI/UL/CAN) and International (IEC/EN/ISO) safety standards
Willing to travel nationally and internationally between Tesla facilities and testing laboratories
