The Difference You Will Make:

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer on the Insurance Expansion Team, you will have the autonomy to:

Influence different surface areas across the company to enable seamless and extensible integration with the insurance platform.

• Influence the product and UX requirements by engaging early and often with designers, product managers and other stakeholders to help steer teams on the most efficient path towards overall goals.
• Launch, expand and optimize our protection products across new markets, surface areas, and cohorts of users.
• Seize greenfield opportunities on a fast-growing team.
• Deliver on a strategic, multi-year roadmap and global rollout for web platforms.
• Identify and propose solutions to problems coming in the way of product engineering excellence.
• Help build out the team, cultivate innovation and growth, and nurture a culture of technical quality from design, through code review, to production operations.

A Typical Day:

• Collaborating with Product Managers, Experience Designers, Data Scientists, to identify opportunities for business impact, and design and deliver high-quality products.
• Building efficient and reusable web components and architecting reliable, performant, and scalable solutions.
• Developing prototypes, conducting experiments and iterating features following data-driven approaches.
• Identifying areas of improvement and driving engineering best practices.
• Writing clean, testable and maintainable code to implement the features and improve the platform.
• Facilitating and joining collaboration and execution of projects across multiple teams, to extend Airbnb’s core functionality for Insurance purposes, promoting innovation and growth.

Your Expertise:

• 5+ years industry experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals.
• Robust design and product sensibilities.
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in at least one modern, general programming language, especially a JVM language.
• Experience with back-end service development, including GraphQL.
• Proven ability to architect and develop solutions for ambiguous problems and integrations across multiple teams, systems and surface areas.
• [Bonus] Experience building frontend applications across various mediums (web, email, or native) is a plus.
