The Nokia Deepfield Test Engineering (TestEng) team is a global team of technical experts that help our software development teams validate product requirements and address defects before product release.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

As part of the TestEng team, you will be part of an organization that protects the internet from DDoS. Using one of the largest and most detailed attack sample libraries available, you will contribute to the safety of our customers networks through the validation of the Deepfield Networks Defender product.

Responsibilities

  • You will help ensure that the Deepfield Defender product is free from defects, advocate for quality, and engineer innovative strategies to ensure the AI driven DDoS mitigation strategy is successful at precision mitigation of DDoS attacks.
  • Provide feedback and document defects in Jira for the Deepfield Product (Cloud Intelligence, Subscriber Intelligence, Operational Intelligence, Defender DDoS). Your focus will be on Defender (DDoS attack detection & auto-mitigation)
  • Become a Defender & DDoS subject matter expert
  • Develop expertise to find, triage, debug, and reproduce Defender DDoS detection and mitigation defects
  • Leverage the Secure Genome library to reproduce defects within the Defender pipeline
  • Work closely with R&D to promote quality and create innovative test strategies while Integrating in a development team with a focus on quality
  • Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Create test plans and execute against those plans to ensure product functionality and recommend ways to improve test frameworks that increase velocity and aid with release cadence. Report and track defects in Jira
  • Work alongside industry leaders in Network Security and engage with the Test Engineering team
  • Share lessons learned and work collaboratively with other test engineers focused on other areas of the product
  • Take ownership of automated test suites to track regressions and defects in the product

Day-to-day tools you’ll use:

  • Test Frameworks: PyTest, Behave, K6
  • CI/CD: Github Actions, Jenkins
  • Code Quality: SonarQube
  • Languages: Python, Groovy, C, JavaScript, Bash
  • Project Management/Bug Tracking: Atlassian Suite (Jira)
  • OS: Ubuntu, MacOS

You Have:

  • Knowledge of Network Security and IP networks is a must. Experience with TCP/IP, Routing and Switching, and network management is required. A familiarity with Python test frameworks and software development (Python, PyTest, Behave, K6, etc.) is necessary.
  • The ability for the Test Engineer to dive deep, debug and use exceptional problem-solving skills to answer technical questions is essential. A sense of ownership, initiative and responsibility is essential for this role. The Test Engineer is a subject matter expert on network security, DDoS detection and mitigation, and the Deepfield Defender solution.
  • Our ideal candidate is an experienced Test Engineer with a deep knowledge of IP Networking/Security and has a passion for automated testing and quality; someone who thrives in a complex, fast-moving environment.
