The Engineering Learning team at Akamai seeks an Instructional Designer with 3-5 years of experience in creating technical eLearning and training courses for developers and technical staff. You'll design, develop, and evaluate learning solutions to enhance new hire productivity and ongoing education within Akamai Engineering.

You will design, develop, deploy, and evaluate learning materials using sound Instructional Design methodologies. You will collaborate with members of the Learning team to determine training needs, design proposed solutions, and develop training programs to meet the needs of the engineering function.

As a Documentation and Training Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Building learning solutions and training plan in collaboration with Training Manager/Leads for large scale technical training programs for internal engineers at Akamai.
• Working with subject matter experts and identifying target audience's training needs
• Designing and developing content for learning modules that are engaging and of high quality
• Building Storyboards, visualizing instructional graphics, developing courses, managing content review process, validating learning objectives and course effectiveness.
• Adhering to committed timelines and schedules without impacting the quality of deliverables. Performs other duties as assigned.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a degree in any discipline (communication, literature, journalism, education, computer science or humanities degree)
• Have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in instructional design, applying adult learning principles
• Have working knowledge of e-learning and video production tools like Articulate 360, Captivate, Camtasia and Audacity
• Be well-versed with learning methodologies and strategies, especially around storytelling, micro learning, and simulations
• Have an ability to handle complex technical subjects - cloud, networking, and software development frameworks
