As a Senior Component Engineer you will see the big picture and drive reviewing / improving / maintaining our Component Engineering methods, processes and procedures, as well as training and mentoring other Kuiper Component Engineers. You will also deep dive in to technical problems, involving Electronic Component research, Component Selection and working with cross functional teams to validate AVL component candidates. You will support design challenges, manufacturing issues and look around corners to support next gen products. Your contributions will help ensure Component Engineering is a Center of Excellence at Kuiper.Key job responsibilities
This position spans a breadth and depth of responsibilities, including but not limited to:• Providing Technical guidance and support to Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing as a Subject Matter Expert
• Creating / reviewing / improving / maintaining our Component Engineering methods, processes and procedures
• Reviewing Electrical Component Requests to assure they meet Requirements; owning Electrical Component Lifecycle Management
• Conducting and Reviewing component research on equivalent components to expand our AVL
• Supporting release processes, ensuring end-2-end BOM Quality from CAD to Manufacturing
• Performing and reviewing BOM scrubs
• Managing Component Failure Analysis and Corrective Actions with suppliers.Export Control Requirement:A day in the life

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 15+ years working as a Component Engineer in space, aerospace, or other high-tech industry
- Experience working for, or closely with, an IC manufacturer; an understanding of fab processes, assembly processes, design processes, materials, and associated QA and REL issues common to Silicon ICs.
- Experience in electrical component selection, derating, contract manufacturers (PCBA)
- Experience creating qualification plans and obsolescence analyses
- Experience in component reliability, failure analysis or Destructive Physical Analysis
- Experience in collaborating with the ECAD/physical board designers.
- Experience with PLM tools, MSOffice and other desktop tools
- 20+ years working as a Component Engineer in space, aerospace, or other high-tech industry
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and component data sheets.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and assembly lines (PCB Assembly)
- In-depth experience with Product Development Processes
- Direct product development, release and support experience
- Program Management strengths including the ability to direct workstreams across QA, Reliability, Engineering stakeholders
- Attention to detail and ability to operate with minimal direction and across multiple teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
