As a Data Scientist Associate in our analytics team, you will be part of a high caliber team responsible for promoting business performance using insightful data analytics. You will use the latest analytical tools and techniques to continuously optimize every aspect of the Product Analytics business. This role will require you to engage with US stakeholders and clients on a frequent basis and self-promote initiatives when required.

Job responsibilities

  • Must understand, synthesize and align to evolving business priorities and deliver on strategic solutions that drive successful execution on those priorities.
  • Design and develop views that efficiently summarize performance metrics and KPIs and provide self-serve capability to the end-users in intuitive and meaningful ways.
  • Work with multiple business partners to ensure that all business needs and projects are appropriately identified, prioritized and executed. Manage delivery in agile format.
  • Work with data scientists, business analysts and IT partners to drive impactful solutions to help our business leaders obtain interactive data insights and make meaningful decisions.
  • Provide strategic partnership on executing on data strategy that promotes modern data architecture, governance and democratization of data access.
  • Provide positive and consistent work environment for everyone.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience with big data technologies and programming languages in SQL, Python- At least 2-3 years of experience is required.
  • Expertise in advanced analytics
  • Prior exposure to financial industry is a plus. Although not a mandatory requirement
  • Solid proficiency in written and oral communication, presentation skills – client communication, story building, charts preparation etc.
  • Ability to perform independent research and discovery around data environments, processes and tools and provide impactful solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and data tools and work independently as well as within a cooperative, team environment.
  • Ability to manage execution and delivery of multiple projects in an agile manner and adapt to changing business priorities while still meeting delivery deadlines.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, Economics or other relevant field and 3-6 years of relevant work experience. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Functional industry experience in operations, marketing, credit/risk, technology or finance
  • Intermediate knowledge of Machine Learning
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to pull data using multiple joins, sub-queries, and advanced functions in an enterprise-scale database environment (Teradata, Hadoop, AWS, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with business intelligence and data wrangling tools such as SAS EG, SAS Viya, Python, Snowflake and Alteryx is key
  • Basic skills with JIRA, Confluence
