Senior Manager, Banking Design & Transformation
We’re looking for high calibre Senior Managers, with exceptional leadership skills and proven track record of delivering tangible results from complex Change and Transformation initiatives at Top Tier Global Banking institutions, leveraging modern technologies and through partnerships within the financial services ecosystem.

Your key responsibilities
We are looking for people who can lead client delivery teams, shaping and owning detailed analysis and design, as well as implement practical and innovative solutions to address our clients’ challenges. Responsibilities include:
Design and implement new or enhanced operating models within a specific function or enterprise wide
Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities across an entire organisation or within a specific function
Contributing and/or leading on process re-engineering initiatives that result in real benefits to the client both financially and from a compliance point of view
Work with our clients who are in the process of merging or de-merging (including carve outs) to ensure their operation functions going forward
Operationalise regulatory or risk driven changes such as AML, Conduct Risk, KYC, Basel III/IV etc
Support the wider team with the development of thought leadership, benchmarks, quality and risk management activities as well as team events
Help develop our business by supporting sales activities and leveraging their own networks and contact
Skills and attributes for success
We are looking for candidates at Senior Manager level. All the above responsibilities apply to all grades at different level of depth. Specific responsibilities for the Senior Manager grade are:
Lead client assignments either standalone or as part of a larger team
Networking to develop long-term trusted relationships
Work as an Engagement Manager responsible for budgeting, billing and EY’s essential quality and risk management activities
Identifying opportunities for and securing new business working with the EY delivery and/or sales teams
Leading proposals and bid teams
Liaising with service line teams, functional specialists and Area Partners
Enhance skills that will help develop EY’s business
Pro-actively support the people agenda including counselling of junior colleagues, performance management and people management
To qualify for the role, you must have some or all of the following:
Previous experience in financial services consulting or comparable experience driving transformation initiatives
Strong track record in managing project delivery, with an ability to lead teams in the development and delivery of high-quality output against project objectives to tight deadlines
Appreciation of current market trends in retail banking, commercial banking and related operational areas
Specialism in at least one retail banking or commercial banking product or service (e.g. mortgages, unsecured lending trade finance, cards, payments, cash management, current accounts etc.,)
Specific skills in a number of consultancy approaches such as target operating model development, service redesign, digital transformation, cost reduction, process re-engineering, post merger integration and carve outs. Including both design and implementation, and ideally at a group or divisional level),
Intellectual strength and flexibility to rapidly understand complex problems and rationalise these into a workable solution which can then be delivered
Ability to develop and deliver high quality output against stated project objectives and meet tight deadlines
Ability to develop impactful written presentations and participate effectively in meetings with senior clients
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Experience from delivering successful transformation in retail and/or commercial banking, either enterprise wide or within a specific function or process
Experience harnessing modern technologies such as scaled AI, GenAI or integration of digital assets creating new opportunities for revenue generation and operational efficiency
Knowledge or at least an awareness of the regulatory and geopolitical challenges that banks face and their impact on operations
Expertise in cultivating mid- to senior-level relationships with clients and the ability to interact with clients up to the C-suite level
Sufficient technology and data experience to lead a blended team of technology and business consultants
Ability to work under limited supervision (‘self starter’) in unstructured environments
Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel
