Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.
Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment.
Experience in network operations, systematic troubleshooting in IP and Optical environment.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Layer 1 optical transmissions systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.
Knowledge of NOC/TAC environment managing large-scale optical networks.
Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, Layer 2 and Layer 3 network configurations and network routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS).
Ability to participate in shift work in a network operations center environment.
Ability to employ troubleshooting methodology and use of creative problem solving under pressure.
