Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Software Engineer (multiple openings) in Houston, Texas.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Software Engineer will be responsible for the analyzing, designing, testing, developing, and maintaining U.S. Bank’s best in class software experiences. This position will focus on development based on urgency and will be part of a team that manages the following applications: Lending Authority Reconciliation System (LARS), RPS Matrix Development Tool and Cash Simulator. Responsibilities include: migrating applications from .net 4.6 to Blazor assembly Net Core withdesign, development, deployment to cloud and support for Cash Simulator web application including integrating the application with Kafka message queue in JSON format to pull latest message updates made by Spring Boot services; Blazor, Jenkins deployment pipelines; Azure Cloud hosting web application and cloud Cron jobs for LARS TER( Terminated Employee Report ) background services; Gitlab source safe and deployment pipelines to manage different deployment regions (Central US & Eastern US ); US Bank on perm cloud utilizing Rancher and Cloudbees; Azure cloud SQL server and cloud services for VM, Load balancer, Certificates configuration with POD, Code deployment and IP configurations for deployment environments; integrating and consuming Spring boot services and Tibco service for LARS and RPS matrix Development Tool web applications; contributing to migration process of transitioning applications from on-premises hosting to cloud-based infrastructure, aligning with U.S. Bank’s cloud adoption strategy; designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products; taking full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code; collaborating with product manager to collect requirements; assisting with ongoing migration of applications with Oracle database dependencies to SQL server; Splunk integration and dashboard design and development for Azure Cloud hosted application for viewing application logs; engaging in release management to deploy enhancements every alternate week; identifying and resolving issues with external facing applications undergoing annual pen tests; serving as a subject matter expert in React for other developers; aiding in migration of applications; creating reusable components in React; contributing to API development for new features and troubleshooting for performance improvements; addressing high-priority bug issues; consistently creating optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; making sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront; conducting code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures; accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices; reviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; and anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before they require escalation. Multiple openings. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science plus 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Project Lead, Consultant, Software Developer, .Net Developer or related. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Project Lead, Consultant, Software Developer, .Net Developer or related in lieu of a Master’s degree plus 2 years.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess 2 years of experience with Master’s or 5 years of experience with Bachelor’s with: designing, developing and unit testing of the latest technologies .Net, MVC, Angular, ReactJS, SQL server and HTML5 application in agile environment; object oriented design, architecture review and design and unit testing of functional business rules and data warehouse application; supporting and enhancement using SDLC and Agile methodology; responsible for test scenarios and execution of test cases; C#; Asp.Net using MVC; JIRA; WebAPI; WCF; Node Js; JQuery; Webservices (.asmx & wsdl) and SSRS reporting.Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location.
