You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.Your primary responsibilities will include: developing new services and features; writing and building infrastructure-as-code; designing systems; addressing availability, performance and capacity issues; and helping us to operate our global service, running the service end-to-end. You will need to perform data analysis to optimize our products and keep raising our operational bar. You will troubleshoot, diagnose and fix production software issues by: developing automation for infrastructure build-outs; developing monitoring solutions; performing software maintenance and configuration; implementing fixes for internally-developed code (Ruby, Java, JavaScript); and, updating, tracking and resolving interesting technical challenges.We would love to hear from your if you are detail-oriented, having great verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, able to work independently and can maintain a professional approach under pressure. You must have the mindset and attitude to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages. We hope you're an individual who enjoys working in teams, be able to prioritize your workload, and maintain a high bar in making designs while operating our services. You will also be a technical mentor for other engineers.

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
