We are hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Azure PostgreSQL team, where you will work on one or more areas of a large-scale cloud database service such as continuous availability, transaction logging and recovery, clustering, scalable storage systems, read and write performance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.

• This position will berequiredto pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in developing and shipping system level features in an enterprise production backend server system.
• 2+ years of experience building and supporting distributed cloud services with production grade.

• ​Lead discussions for the architecture of products/solutions and create proposals for architecture by testing design hypotheses and helping to refine code plans. Provide reactions, proposed solutions, and inputs to architects.
• Lead by example within the team by producing extensible and maintainable code. Apply metrics to drive the quality and stability of code, as well asappropriate codingpatterns and best practices.
• Participatein code reviews to ensure coding standards are followed. Consider diagnosability, reliability, and maintainability when reviewing code, and understand when code is ready to be shared or delivered.
• Identifyneeds for a broad versus selected approach in testing mechanisms and make informed decisions to implement the most effective tests. Drive efforts to add new tests, remove antiquated tests, and aggregate tests to improve the test suite.
• Maintainoperations of live service as issues arise on a rotational, on-call basis.
