Job SummaryReporting to thetherole involves being responsible for supporting the implementation of routine activities related to the efficient management of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs in offices and manufacturing sites in order to ensure that the required company and government standards and regulations are met.
Shift: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm Mon – Fri
What a typical day looks like:
- Participate in environmental safety meetings and training programs, ensuring awareness of EH&S policies and procedures.
- Document and track audits, agency inspections, and accident investigations, identifying causes and preventive measures related to workplace incidents.
- Attend and contribute to technical presentations, collaborating with engineers and health professionals to address hazardous conditions.
- Conduct environmental assessments, including noise surveys, atmosphere monitoring, and inspections for compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Collect and analyze samples of potentially toxic materials and hazardous substances, ensuring safe handling and management.
- Inspect workplace environments and ensure the availability of necessary safety equipment, first-aid supplies, and compliance with public health legislation.
- Maintain and update emergency response plans, providing training and orientations for new employees on health and safety protocols.
- Order suspension of activities that endanger worker health and safety, while preparing hazardous waste for proper transportation and storage.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Knowledge of EH&S equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies that promote workplace safety.
- Demonstrates functional skills and participates actively in relevant processes.
- Awareness of Flex techniques and their application in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of health and safety issues specific to manufacturing operations.
- Proficient in using office tools, including data entry and office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations).
- Typically requires 2+ years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S).
- Emergency medical certification and Hazmat training are desirable;
- Experience in proactively supporting supervisors in achieving departmental goals and targets.
