Position Overview:
The Category Manager is accountable to initiate, organize and implement breakthrough Category Strategies, Programs and Policies for the assigned Category spend and related Supply Base to ensure optimum Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Quality, Delivery, Sustainability and Innovation. Accountable to align Cost Category Governance and Strategy with all nominated B/R/F stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
Creates intelligence regarding Category related trends and technologies to design optimum sourcing footprint
Organizes, implements and drives process efficiency by leveraging standard work, service providers (internal/external) and scaling effects
Drives DFX continuously, understanding our internal business processes and functional strategies
Cost Category Domain Expert driving Cost Category Management on CC Levels 2 or 3 (global)
Planning, optimizing and control of the Cost Category Strategy Development Fit for Purpose
Define value drivers and spend parameters to enable most effective spend target setting/planning. Manages the relationship with the functional counterpart(s) in close alignment with the respective Business Partners.
Expert in applying Indirect Procurement toolbox to plan, organize and manage Demand Fit For Purpose conventions, Value Creation modeling and Spend Governance
Develop and rollout Cost Category Strategies and Business Cases
Define, align and manage ramp-up of Cost Category Funnel measures
Planning, organizing and setting-up of Cost Category Projects
Disciplined in tracking own progress and executing of defined standard processes
Building and maintaining up-to-date knowledge about company’s objectives, processes, strategies & industry trends
Proactively assessing issues and recommending solutions to ramp-up and accelerate
Managing Cost Category Projects and FUNNEL measures and proactively initiate escalation
Actively convincing stakeholders and users to apply and implement the Indirect Procurement concepts
Establishing intense collaboration across Business Partnering, Procurement Management and Spend Governance to ramp-up performance and to gain End-2-End insights
Promoting the systematic deployment of Indirect Procurement practices across B/R/F
Logical, methodical and collaborative approach to define business Case/decision memos for problem solving
Leveraging internal and external Indirect Procurement network to create breakthrough ideas Cost Category Domain Expert driving Cost Category Management on CC Level 2 or 3 (global)
Spend >50 M€
Owns Category strategy design & performance
competencies.
Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
Desired: Separate expert level certifications in LEAN/ Six sigma, functional/category area.
Minimum: 15+ years in Supplier Account Manager and/or Strategic Buyer and/or Site Project Procurement Management and/or relevant functional category
Desired: Cross-functional experience in related functions; Global Project Management experience; Experience in applying Lean methodologies
