Your key responsibilities:

  • Support business objectives and firm values through thoughtful, timely and creative PR efforts that engage external audiences and our people.
  • Draft and edit key PR materials, including press releases, key messages, briefing documents, talking points, statements, bylined articles, blogs and more.
  • Follow news cycles and market trends to share competitive intel, industry best practices and identify proactive opportunities for the PR team.
  • Translate complex, technical material into compelling, newsworthy content with unique points of view and line of sight into content whitespace areas in the market.
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare monthly coverage updates, as well as regular reports.
  • Measure and report on public relations results to the wider team and stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage a database of media contacts and build targeted media lists for initiatives.
  • Proactively contribute ideas and creativity to brainstorming and planning discussions, as well as team meetings, to support quarterly plans.
  • Address ad hoc, quick turnaround public relations requests based on business, market or public events and initiatives that arise.
  • Collaborate and actively share information with communications, social, digital and brand teams to ensure an integrated approach to maximize our impact in the market.


Skills and attributes for success:

  • Stellar writing skills, with the ability to understand and communicate complex ideas persuasively and efficiently through digital, social, print and spoken channels.
  • A strategic and growth mindset focused on initiating new ideas and stories to elevate the EY brand through external media channels.
  • Ability to think outside the box and contribute innovative ideas with a strong understanding of how best to deliver tactics across different channels.
  • Extreme attention to detail, editing and proofreading skills, and high-quality standards for timely product delivery.
  • Understanding of public relations measurement tools, tactics and benchmarks (familiarity using a newswire platform and/or Meltwater an asset).
  • Readiness and comfortability working in a very fast-paced, complex, yet dynamic work environment and ability to multitask on a variety of different projects, while operating with a sense of urgency.
  • A team-player with a strong desire to learn and collaborate as part of an integrated team.


To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Post-secondary education in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing communications or a related field.
  • Minimum one to three years’ professional experience in related field.
  • Organized and articulate, with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $52,400 to $78,600. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
