The primary functions of a Quality Technician include assisting Quality Engineers in the design and development of inspections methods, including procedures, gauging, implementing technologies or programming. Must have the ability to use various metrology instruments proficiently. This employee also works with Process Engineering, Product Development and Manufacturing Departments in planning for quality and resolving quality problems.

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Basic metrology capability including use of basic gauges such as calipers, micrometers, as well ability to operate smart scope and comparator machines.

  • Basic understanding of CMM operation.

  • Reviews and evaluates engineering designs, plans and specifications.

  • Has the ability to perform basic electrical testing procedures in addition to various lab tests including, but not limited to, tensile strength, hardness testing, salt spray testing, and life cycle testing.

  • Basic problem solving – Knowledge on how to drive the 5-Why’s to root cause.

  • Composes, creates, completes or maintains necessary documents, records and correspondence.

  • Efficiently conducts office research and investigations.

  • Computer capability with Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to investigate, resolve and document nonconformance issues.

  • Determines inspection methods and gauges.

  • Visual acuity of 20/40 or better (with corrective lenses if necessary) is required

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Ability to lift or move 50 lbs.
