As a member of the Engineering IT Secure Environments team (IP Protection team), you will be working in a project-based team that builds secure development environments designed to protect Qualcomms IP while also enabling engineering to get their work done. These environments span the globe and are designed with a diverse set of requirements and security controls. Technical lead for new HW Engg JV/ODC/3rd party engaements, responsible for leading the build of the new environment that implements current security controls and infrastructure architecture while meeting engineering requirements.Strong Linux and Windows system administration skills as well as the ability to interpret requirements to execute the required tasks constitute the core competencies of this role. Development of solutions, scripts and/or processes to automate the management and operations of these specific environments, services, tools and servers are required for long-term success. While this role is primarily project-based, it can include IT engineering services support, ticket queue management, and phone support as necessary. You will be working closely with the Hardware and Software Engineering design communities as well as IT peers. Building strong relationships with multiple global business partners will be key to your success. Responsibilities: End-to-end support of deploying new secure engineering design environments in a global environment. Analysis of engineering workflows to facilitate the onboarding of new workloads and troubleshoot issues. Analysis of IT workflows and implementation of automation processes to improve IT efficiency. System level understanding of the large-scale compute environment. Design and implement new communication and support protocols with critical key departments and users. Ensure proactive oversight to identified assets and services on behalf of engineering. Establish collaborative partnerships with all IT and engineering teams involved. Manage multiple concurrent projects with strong communication and organization skills, largely independently.
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years IT-relevant work experience.
Proficient in Python or Perl scripting languages.
Experience working on Linux systems as an administrator.
Having Good knowledge in NFS, Vmware, Unix configuration management tools. Triaging Firewall networking issues.
Experience working in EDA environments
Experience working in a large-scale global compute environment
Having Good troubleshooting knowledge in NFS, vmware, Networking, Firewall and other new technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 4+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
6+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
Physical Requirements:
• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoots and debugs issues with networks, systems, and/or applications by completing complex root cause analyses, and escalates issues both internally and externally as needed.
• Manages project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with minimal supervision.
• Adapts to significant changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure and meet deadlines independently.
• Serves as escalation point from service desk to resolve advanced system and/or application issues by interfacing with users, other IT Engineers and vendors to resolve issues.
• Seeks out learning opportunities to increase own knowledge and skill within and outside of domain of expertise.
• Networks with colleagues within and outside of domain of expertise to gain insight, ideas, and connections.
• Monitors overall availability and performance of computer operating systems and/or software applications to ensure customers can access necessary systems and/or applications.
• Communicates with project lead via email and direct conversation to make recommendations about overcoming impending obstacles.
• Leads documentation of technical issues that affect a project or other areas of an overall system.
• Documents solutions and common processes.
• Contributes to technical conversations with tech leads/managers and brainstorms possible strategies for project completion.
Level of Responsibility:
• Working under some supervision.
