Job Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, track, and resolve tax issues
• Coordinate with 3rd Party Vendor and External reviewers for timely delivery of projects
• Oversee 3rd Party Vendor’s production of deliverables
• Monitor and review for adherence to fund policies
• Research and respond to inquiries from Clients, 3^rdParty Vendor, and Client Auditors
• Evaluate processes for improvements and to provide metrics to Management
• Develop a strong knowledge of internal systems and the function of each of the various internal service teams
• Function as a Canadian tax subject matter expert (SME) for taxation and provide guidance within the organization pertaining to client initiatives (i.e. fund creation, termination, mergers)

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong client service and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast paced environment
• Ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities
• Experience working across multiple business areas and/or functions to deliver results
• Relationship building skills - develop internal and external partnerships to drive results
• Strong technical skills specific to Canadian tax including accounting principles and theories
• Analytical skills, problem solving, good critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Expert use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to present to senior management.
• Advanced knowledge of tax issues affecting investment funds
• 8+ years of Canadian tax experience, specific to trust taxation

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• 5-10 years of experience in Operations
