Description
- Design for Manufacturability: Provides early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturable.- Process Engineering: Designs and develops technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency.- Failure/Data Analysis: Plans, develops, and implements technically complex procedures for the testing and evaluation of soon-to-be-released products.- Fixture design and development: Creates Request for Quotation/Proposal (RFQ/RFPs) that documents the design requirements of simple to complex mechanical jigs and fixtures for assembly.- Leads design reviews of fixture requirements, design, qualification, and capability.- Manages the delivery schedule, required documentation, and qualification for acceptance at machine supplier facility and contract manufacturer- Works with Global Supply Managers to define and establish supply chain requirements utilizing selected equipment and manufacturing suppliers. - Travels to equipment supplier and contract manufacturer sites for equipment bring-up, qualification, acceptance testing, and build support- Drives failure analysis and issue resolution.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of full time mechanical manufacturing experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- 25% domestic and international travel required
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent project management skills (Planning, Cost, & Delivery), experience working in a matrix organization.
- Direct experience leading any of the following functional engineering teams: Mechanical, Electrical, DFX, etc.
- Experience working with international OEM partners.
- New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience.
- Have basic expertise in CNC Machining (including Milling and Turning), Injection and Overmolding, Surface Finishing, and Equipment Assembly.
- Experience with fixture design with some familiarity of PLC programming.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $151,200 and $227,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
