Amazon Selection and Catalog Systems (ASCS) builds the systems that host and run the world’s largest e-Commerce products catalog. Our high scale distributed systems process hundreds of millions of updates on the billions of products to power the online buying experience for hundreds of millions of Amazon's customers worldwide, so they can find, discover and buy anything they want 24x7x365. Key job responsibilities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Strong experience in architecting and building multi-threaded, distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, big "O" analysis and designing for performance, scalability and availability
- Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a clear commitment to making Amazon a great place to work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective, product software engineers
