What you'll do...
As a Software Engineer, you will be part of Global Time and Attendance team responsible for paying billions of dollars a year to all Walmart and SAM's hourly associates timely, accurately, and efficiently.
What you'll do:
- You are responsible for coding, unit testing, building high performance and scalable applications that meet the needs of millions of Walmart-International customers
- You are expected to be more intellectually curious engineer who is passionate about domain/technology in general.
- Drive Proof of Concept (POC) and Proof of Technology (POT) evaluations
- Providing technical mentorship & coaching engineers
- You will use event driven and microservices powered to interact with SQL and No-SQL Databases to achieve the goal of paying the Walmart’s & SAM's associates timely, accurately, and efficiently with zero manual intervention.
- You will be part of the application development team in software design and implementation, upholding our architectural patterns, design patterns, coding standards, quality principles, and customer focus.
What you'll bring:
- At least 5 years of experience in Software Engineering or related field.
- Expert knowledge of Java/J2EE Technologies and Microservices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Restful Web Services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Design Patterns.
- Experience in API Development and Event Driven application development.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and no-SQL technologies such as DB2, MS SQL, Cosmos DB, AZURE SQL
- Architecture, Design, Development, Reviews etc.
- Interact with highly skilled Architects community to share and learn new technologies, scale, performance etc.
- Gain hands on experience to design scalable solutions, work with Walmart business, product
- Gain development experience of sophisticated, scalable and high performing system
- Leverage to open-source technologies using public clouds ,build and mentor engineers, present ideas to larger organizations groups including innovation, foster culture independently to run team.
- Experience of working with large scale distributed systems, including scalability, disaster recovery and fault tolerance.
