In this critical role for our business, you will provide technical leadership for the production team, including manufacturing engineers and technicians. Focused on providing documentation and floor support for safety, manufacturing, and quality methods you'll always be looking for new processes and methods that will improve safety, reduce product cost and/or improve product quality. This role is empowered to make decisions related to sustaining and supporting production processes and works with team members to cultivate a winning manufacturing attitude and creative work environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Define, control, and maintain production processes including tooling and equipment. Validate design specification and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
- Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing opportunities, developing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of design for manufacturability, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute to site priorities. Establish team goals/priorities that meet or exceed established quality standards.
- Work with Production Associates and Manufacturing Technicians to resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment, and product design.
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address complex manufacturing processes. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking and solicits feedback from multiple internal and external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information and develops skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
- Focused on maintaining a culture of compliance and audit readiness to facilitate the manufacturing process of medical devices. As well as Environmental, Health & Safety efforts in support of plant goals.
- Driving LEAN manufacturing implementation, including identification and implementation of continuous improvement projects to support the wing-to-wing manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years production, supply chain or leadership experience or High School diploma/GED and 10 years production or supply chain experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
- Understanding of IT QA and testing procedures, need to have exposure to installations and testing of High voltage equipment like Transformers & Generators.
- Knowledge and understanding of document control, design transfer, verification, validation, acceptance activity, to ensure that product, equipment, tools, processes, software, training, and documentation meet requirements.

Desired Characteristics
- MBA or Masters degree from an accredited college/university.
- Experience in manufacturing in the medical device industry is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform with high levels of ambiguity.
