As a Credit Monitoring Supervisor, you will be a member of the leadership team with a primary responsibility for Training, Coaching and Developing new and current Monitoring Analysts. The Monitoring Analysts are responsible for reviewing Credit Agreements to setup monitoring requirements and assessing borrowers’ compliance with Credit Agreements on a recurring basis. Daily activities will include training new hire training, providing refresher training to target quality improvement, coaching employees for process and quality improvement, and developing employees for career progression to support higher, complex transactions. The Credit Monitoring Supervisors are seen as a subject matter expert for the global team, partnering both with internal and external partners, including Credit Risk, Credit Review, Quality Assurance, and Audit, as needed. The role requires advanced knowledge of the credit monitoring processes and financial risks with the ability to coach and train the team in performing their job responsibilities to meet quality and compliance standards. The candidate may be assigned ad hoc projects, as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed, process level training to new hires and employees who are being upskilled to more complex tasks; Subject matter expertise on a broad range of processes, Line of Business differences, and systems is required
  • Own employee performance and development by coaching employees to identify process improvements and reduce quality errors; Supervisor will need to tailer coaching and development to the individual employees’ needs, providing support as needed
  • Review Financial Agreements and ensure compliance with Credit Procedures and Policies within Commercial Banking, considering System Limitations as needed; Interpret and understand legal documents pertaining to underwriting and perform due diligence to comply with the lending requirements
  • Partner globally with internal and external teams including the Doc Intake CoE, Statement Spreading CoE, Pre-Underwriting, Credit Risk, Credit Review, and Quality Assurance
  • Manage complex requests independently make process related decisions based on policies and procedures as well as current financial agreements; Manage exceptions and one-off transactions, as needed
  • Initiate and take a lead in Continuous Improvement Projects; Identifying process gaps/exceptions, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend possible solutions
  • Develop and maintain written procedures and training materials as necessary

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years of experience in the Credit Monitoring CoE as a Monitoring and/or Quality Control Analyst with experience across most processes/transaction types
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting preferred
  • Adequate performance in current role across performance priorities
  • Passion for leading with a focus on the employee, including training, coaching and developing
  • Advanced experience interpreting Financial Statements, Appraisal reports, Borrowing Base Certificate, Compliance Certificate, Mortgage documents, Credit Agreement and abstract critical data
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and communicate effectively to employees and multiple levels of management, both written and verbally
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision including demonstration of good time management
