As an Alternative Investments Middle Office Associate within J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank, you will be part of the Alternative Investments Group (“AIG”), a global team responsible for the selection and monitoring of a diverse array of alternative investment opportunities. You will quickly learn, understand, and support the functions and services provided by the Alternatives Middle Office team. This role offers the opportunity to specialize in all aspects of a designated set of alternative investments, stay updated on industry trends, provide top-notch support to our Investor community, and develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Job Responsibilities
- Specialize in all aspects of a designated set of alternative investments, including hedge funds, private equity funds, and real estate funds.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to maintain expertise.
- Provide top-notch support to our Investor community for JPMorgan’s alternative investment products.
- Address investor inquiries and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Assist investors with the subscription and redemption processes, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Manage and nurture relationships with hedge/private equity funds and fund administrators.
- Act as a liaison between investors and fund managers, facilitating clear and effective communication.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, including compliance, legal, and operations.
- Review subscription and transfer documents meticulously to ensure all information is accurate and complete.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on investment documents and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Produce ad-hoc reporting for senior management to inform strategic decisions and support business development and investment strategies.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Undergraduate Degree: A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- Understanding of Sophisticated Financial Products: Knowledge of alternative investments, including hedge funds, private equity funds, and real estate funds.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex financial models and perform data analysis.
- High-Pressure Environment: Ability to work effectively in an exhilarating, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with investors, fund managers, and internal teams.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience with alternative investments and/or paralegal experience.
- Industry Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CFA, CAIA, or Series 7/63 licenses.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with trade order management systems and other financial software.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Project Management: Experience in managing projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to achieve objectives.
- Networking: Established network within the alternative investments industry.
