Job summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Hands on data engineering and transformation joining and merging multiple data sources, recognizing business-relevant variables and data points, and convert them into data assets with metrics and attributes that creatively represent the business.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and technical subject matter experts to continuously understand business drivers, priorities, opportunities and key indicators.
  • Research, analyze and validate data sources and attributes, dedicated transaction and event codes for the purpose of representing business metrics and tell the story.
  • Supporting the implementation of the analytic solution, working with teams across all business units to identify and recommend ways to leverage it for specific deliverables, including dashboards, reports, adhoc requests, etc.
  • Work with the team to develop best practices and support each other to address data transformation challenges using mostly SQL.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant quantitative discipline with a focus on data engineering, data warehousing, computer science and/or data-driven analytics.
  • Demonstrated advanced SQL skills to conduct data transformation, data discovery, validate, de-duplicate, aggregate, unveil edge cases, understand main attributes, sessionize, transform data structures, etc.
  • Experience designing and deploying ETL processes with programs like Alteryx.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues concisely to both technical peers or business stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, structured approach to writing efficient code and creating comprehensive documentation.
  • Experience working across multiple database platforms, both on premises, such as Teradata, Oracle, as well as on Cloud solutions such as AWS and Snowflake.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience working on the Financial services industry.
  • Designing and developing dashboards and visualizations in Tableau, focused on telling the story.
  • Leveraging MS Excel functionality, including pivot tables, to document technical research.
  • (For internal candidates) - Working knowledge of internal data platforms (ICDW, Cloud sources) and/or Service applications (example: Customer Assist, First Assist, IDMS, Quest, etc.)
