The role will require the conception and the coordination of projects in collaboration with the stakeholders of the Etch team and the Product Management. It will require the monitoring of the project from initiation through delivery, ensuring completion of the projects on schedule and within budget constraints.
The role will involve the definition, the selection and/or the invention of new concepts, designs and approaches of plasma etching, and the development of new or improved etching processes.
The role will require defining problems and objectives, carrying out process and hardware testing, compiling and analysing results.
Additional responsibilities will include writing technical reports for both internal and external use, preparing oral presentations, creating user documents and best-known methods, generating IP submissions and supporting other business units as required.
Essential responsibilities of the role:
- Process Development
- Carry out technical projects: define problems and objectives, organize the test plan, carry out process and hardware testing, analyse results, summarise results in a written report or oral presentation
- Invent new concepts, designs and approaches of plasma etching, develop new or improved processes in line with SPTS products
- Contribute constructively to the work of project teams for new products and processes.
- Generate IP submissions
- Write technical papers for publication at conferences, seminars, etc
- Create user documents and best-known methods
- Support other business units as required
Process Demonstrations
- Demonstrate plasma etch processes to meet the agreed specification
- Assess results using analytical equipment and appropriate software packages
- Undertake problem solving and trouble-shooting
- Provide the product marketing department with regular updates on the progress of sample/demonstration work
- Develop good relationships with customers
- Summarise results in a written report or presentation
Minimum Qualifications
- Master Degree in Microelectronics/ Engineering Physics/ Materials or related Ph.D
- Lab/Fab semiconductor processing experience is mandatory, plasma etch experience would be preferable
- Languages: Fluent English (written and spoken), French is a plus
