The websites you'll be working on serve as the initial touchpoint for thousands of prospective sellers every day. Your challenge will be to design and build engaging, high-performing web experiences that effectively communicate the benefits of the Seller Central platform and guide users smoothly through the registration and onboarding process.Beyond just web application development, this role also requires a strong technical acumen in areas like Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and website performance optimization. You'll need to be a subject matter expert in identifying and implementing best practices for improving page load speeds, reducing latency, and enhancing the overall user experience.
A key part of your responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with the marketing and data analytics teams. You'll leverage an array of frontend metrics and reporting tools to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the websites and landing pages you build. This data-driven approach will allow you to run experiments, make iterative improvements, and optimize the conversion funnel based on real user behavior.The ideal candidate for this Frontend Engineer role will be someone who is truly passionate about crafting beautiful, intuitive web experiences. You should have a deep understanding of modern frontend technologies and frameworks, as well as experience building scalable, responsive user interfaces. An analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills are also essential, as you'll need to balance technical implementation with a keen eye for user experience.
In this position, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams spanning design, product management, and business stakeholders. Your ability to effectively communicate technical concepts, advocate for the Seller experience, and drive alignment will be crucial to your success.
Key job responsibilities- Optimize website performance, including reducing latency and improving page load speeds, to deliver a seamless user experience
- Leverage SEO best practices to ensure the websites you build are discoverable and rank well in search- Serve as a technical subject matter expert, advocating for the Seller experience and providing guidance on user experience decisions
- Work cross-functionally with design, product, and business stakeholders to align on website strategy and requirements
A day in the life
As a Frontend Engineer on the Seller Central web team, your days will be filled with diverse activities - from hands-on coding to cross-functional collaboration. You'll regularly interface with stakeholders in marketing, data analytics, and product to build engaging website experiences that streamline the seller registration and onboarding processes. You can expect to work on architecture design documents for large features and frontend system re-designs. You can also expect to occasionally work directly in backend systems as well as participate in on-call rotation that covers support of the full-stack of the application.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
- 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react
- Experience building scalable, distributed, front-end experiences
- Experience building reusable UX components or libraries


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
- Experience with objected Oriented programming such as Java and other backend AWS technologies.
