Key job responsibilities
A Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for maintaining their teams’ services, requiring them to troubleshoot and identify the root causes of any issues that arise within their systems and any subcomponents. A Site Reliability Engineer will utilise testing, monitoring, and validations on their services, tools, and infrastructure to ensure their teams can continuously deploy new versions of the services with minimal interruption. A Site Reliability Engineer will identify areas to invent, refine, and develop automation and tools to reduce manual operations and fulfil the requirements of the business and their customers.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- 1+ year of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, *nix operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (host networking, storage, *nix operating systems)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, C++, C#, Java, Golang, Ruby
- Experience with Python (preferred)
- Experience with structured coding techniques, CI/CD pipelines build processes, Git, code reviews, unit testing
- Experience of designing, developing or operating cloud services running on AWS
