Your key responsibilities
- Balance sheet reconciliations preparation for AU, NZ and PNG Entities
- Payroll related activities including, but not limited to, payroll balance sheet reconciliations, bonus accrual reconciliations and identifying and actioning any variances with the Oceania Payroll team
- Learn Australian Tax laws with the coaching from existing Inhouse Tax personnel.
- Learn about other country’s tax laws as they arise.
- Apply what you have learnt to ensure all firm travel is within the firm guidelines.
- Work with Inhouse Tax to set certain guidelines.
- Apply what you have learnt in reviewing monthly reconciliations of Fringe Benefits Tax, Goods and Services Tax, and Withholding Taxes.
- Review calculations undertaken by team members to ensure accuracy.
- Occasionally prepare or review monthly GST Returns for the group
- Ensure the Tax Fixed Asset Register is maintained, and review reconciliations and depreciation reports,
- Month End closure activities including journal posting, reporting and tax reconciliations.
- Support during year end processes and internal/external audits as needed
- Support in the preparation of quarterly and annual statements and returns on an individual entity level
- Develop back up plans and focus on cross training the team
- Support in identifying and implementing process improvement ideas
- Trouble shooting and query management, including responding to requests and queries from the finance teams and broader business as needed
- Ensuring adequate internal control procedures are in place
- Regular stakeholder connects
- Create and develop an environment to help and motivate the team members to optimize their performance and professional growth
- Mentor team members and provide direction/ guidance to them

To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- MBA or CA. ACCA (or equivalent) desirable
- Advanced level in Excel
- Experience in SAP desirable
- Experience in working in a globally deployed accounting organization
- At least 9 - 12 years of experience in finance processes and policies
- Experience in managing a similar reporting and analysis function
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Exposure to Power BI, SQL or any other visualization tools
