Retail Credit and Wholesale Credit Risk, this includes reviewing
The role is global and is accountable for the end-to-end execution of periodic reviews for assigned book of work and provide assurance for wealth businesses in accordance with the applicable Risk Policy. The role requires the individual to provide direction, leadership, and guidance to team members on best practices to ensure effective assurance.
The role requires advanced judgment to conducts in-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to solve problems and develop new, innovative solutions. The role is required to think beyond existing solutions, assumptions or current knowledge of sophisticated areas.
Responsibilities:
- Provide independent assurance on the design and operating effectiveness of an area in accordance with Retail / Wholesale Credit & Retail Distribution of Investment Products and Services standards, Citi policies, and regulations. Responsible for providing valued and timely independent assurance on the design and operating effectiveness of a subset of a product and function.
- Assesses the effectiveness of credit / investment impacted risk management practices and identify, monitor and mitigate current and emerging credit / investment risk across Wealth Management.
- Management of global and regional coverage plan through monthly and quarterly reviews
- Perform control environment assessments and identify thematic issues and trends to improve controls and governance over the identification, measurement, management, and reporting of risks.
- Proactive communication to Risk Senior Management of any concerns and/or emerging risks
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years relevant work experience in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or similar with Credit or financial statement analysis experience.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate horizon issues.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven record of accomplishment in managing teams, driving initiatives, and making a positive impact on the organization
- Good knowledge of credit lending and investment products within Wealth Business
- Ability to recognize emerging risks. Expert in risk analysis and risk management processes across high and ultra-high net worth type portfolios
- Effective negotiation skills, a proactive, risk based and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views
- Ability to build and maintain relationships and exert influence without direct authority.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate to audiences of varying levels of seniority.
- Proficient commercial awareness
- Regulatory experience or relevant experience in a similar role at another institution is desirable.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree, master’s degree preferred
